Job summary

Skydio is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to architect and develop electrical systems for a cutting-edge embedded electro-mechanical and optical platform. You will lead design across logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing around a mobile SOC, integrate imaging electronics, and drive DFM considerations for scalable production.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware optimization, collaboration with software and mechanical teams, and rigorous validation to ensure high-quality consumer

Qualifications

• Experience shipping high-volume consumer products in a senior or architect role.
• Experience with mobile SoC design and high-speed digital interfaces.
• Experience solving EMI/RF issues in product development.
• Familiarity with Python or C scripting for automation and testing.
• Ability to guide cross-functional teams through complex architectures.

About the role:

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who will help architect, develop, and refine the electrical systems that bring together state-of-the-art computing hardware, sensing, and power systems.

How you'll make an impact:

• Define the architecture and select components for a complex embedded electro-mechanical and optical system
• Work and direct others through detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing systems around a mobile SOC
• Integrate sophisticated cameras and imaging electronics
• Incorporate DFM and other manufacturing considerations on the way to high-quality mass production
• Create and carry out a validation plan for the system electronics

  Compensation:

  At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $127,500 - $240,000*.
