Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Princeton, NJ

Duration: 12 Months

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead R&D efforts for electro-mechanical medical devices, including feasibility, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Design and analyze mixed-signal analog and digital circuits.
  • Write EMC test plans and reports based on IEC/EN 61326-1, 61326-2-6, and other applicable standards.
  • Set up EMC and safety test equipment and create/maintain equipment SOPs.
  • Perform Product Safety testing (UL/CSA/IEC 61010, 60950/62368-1).
  • Troubleshoot EMC and performance issues and propose design recommendations.
  • Assess the impact of design changes and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop test methods, execute Verification and Validation (V&V) protocols, and author reports.
  • Participate in CAPA investigations.
  • Support product testing validations following Abbott’s Quality System.
  • Interface with external certification agencies for UL Files, CE Marking, and CB Scheme.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain documentation and support audits as required.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of engineering experience in circuit design, EMC, wireless, or product safety.
  • Proficient in ORCAD, Mentor Graphics PADS, and PSpice.
  • Strong understanding of EMC/Safety test procedures and lab equipment.
  • Experience in regulated environments (FDA, ISO standards).
