Job Summary

Join SuperATV as an Electrical Design Engineer, where innovation meets hands‑on craftsmanship to create trusted aftermarket solutions for Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTVs) and All‑Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). In this dynamic role, you will design and develop cutting‑edge electrical and electronic components that enhance vehicle performance, safety, and user experience. Be part of a fast‑paced and collaborative environment dedicated to exceeding customer expectations and pushing the boundaries of off‑road vehicle technology.

Primary Duties

As an Electrical Design Engineer at SuperATV, you will take a lead role in designing and developing products that seamlessly integrate with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) electrical architectures and control systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with product management teams to translate customer needs into comprehensive product requirements and identifying innovation opportunities by assessing industry trends and competitor products.
  • Developing conceptual and detailed electrical designs including schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layouts, connector interfaces, and component specifications to support new and existing product lines.
  • Creating vehicle‑specific electrical integration strategies, analyzing circuit loads, selecting appropriate wire sizing, relay configurations, and power distribution systems to ensure product reliability and safety.
  • Designing and validating electronic control systems for powered accessories, including ECU integration, sensor and actuator interfaces, and CAN Bus communication protocols.
  • Utilizing CAD software extensively to produce accurate 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation that adhere to company standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) practices.
  • Supporting prototype development and testing by conducting engineering analyses, tolerance stack-ups, finite element analysis (FEA), and executing validation procedures to verify product performance against rigorous quality standards.
  • Partnering with testing teams to evaluate products in real‑world conditions, analyzing failures, and recommending design enhancements to improve durability and functionality.
  • Collaborating with manufacturing and production departments to ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and ease of assembly while addressing any production‑related challenges.
  • Managing technical documentation including bills of materials (BOMs), engineering change notices (ECNs), project timelines, and cross‑functional coordination to facilitate smooth product development cycles.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives, supplier evaluation, cost reduction strategies, and supporting installation and serviceability to enhance the overall customer experience.

This role demands a proactive engineer who can manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, fostering innovation, and driving product success from concept to market launch.

Education / Experience
  • Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. A minimum of two years' experience in electrical product design or electrical engineering is preferred, with internships or cooperative education experience in engineering environments also considered.
  • Experience in designing vehicle electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, electronic accessories, or power distribution components, will be advantageous. Previous work in powersports, automotive, off‑road, manufacturing, or consumer product industries will strengthen candidacy.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a strong foundation in electrical theory, vehicle electronics integration, and design software proficiency, complemented by a passion for creating robust, user‑focused products that enhance vehicle performance and rider satisfaction.
