ProActivate in Irvine, CA is seeking a hands-on Design Engineer, Electrical to develop cockpit solutions and controls for defense applications. The role emphasizes new product development (about 90%) and collaboration with engineering, program management, and external stakeholders.

You will translate customer requirements into electrical designs, perform board bring-up and testing, and document designs with clear block diagrams and circuit-level details.

Responsibilities

• Electrical design — Translate customer requirements into electrical designs, design outputs, and supporting documentation.
• Board bring-up — Conduct board bring-up, testing, validation, and troubleshooting down to the component level.
• Root-cause analysis — Identify design failures, determine root cause, and implement technical solutions.
• Electrical testing — Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot and validate designs.
• Technical documentation — Develop accurate block-diagram and circuit-level documentation for completed designs.
• Cross-functional collaboration — Work with engineers, program management, other disciplines, and customers throughout development.
• Independent project management — Operate independently while managing project requirements, priorities, and timelines.

Job Description:

The Design Engineer, Electrical is a hands‑on engineering role supporting the company’s cockpit solutions and controls used in military aircraft and other defense applications. The position is primarily focused on new product development (approximately 90%), with additional responsibility for supporting existing products.
