Job description

Overview

Titan America is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Troutville, VA cement plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of electrical and automated systems to ensure continuous plant operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of plant equipment.
  • Experience in reading/reviewing electrical schematics, loop sheets, P&IDs (process and instrumentation diagrams), and equipment manuals.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues within various process control and automation systems.
  • Experience in use of calibration meters, process meters, digital multi-meters, and megohmmeters, etc.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and NFPA-70E standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities. (workorders, PMs, process changes, tracking action items from shift reports, etc.)
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and operations personnel to ensure plant reliability.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-year technical degree with 3 years of industrial electrical experience (5+ years with no degree considered) or licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician with relevant industrial experience (willing to accept licensed Journeyman in place of 2-year degree but must have industrial electrical maintenance experience).
  • Any related Military Technical Training will be taken into consideration.
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship (if applicable to Journeyman-level experience).
  • Experience in industrial electrical maintenance is a must, preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and best practices (e.g., LOTO, NFPA-70E).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Prior experience in a cement plant or similar heavy industry is a plus.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with Low and medium voltage components including MCC’s, Switchgears, and distribution centers.
Work Environment

This role operates in a cement manufacturing environment, which involves exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and industrial machinery.
