Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Raleigh, NC seeks an Electrical Department Lead to guide the health, performance, and long-term success of the electrical group. You will ensure technical excellence, oversee staffing and growth, and mentor future leaders across multidisciplinary projects.

You will collaborate with the Office Manager, Production Manager, and project teams to deliver high-quality electrical solutions, manage utilization, and drive growth across the firm.

Qualifications

• Four-year technical degree in engineering or a related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in electrical engineering.
• Ten+ years of progressively responsible experience in the electrical engineering field.
• Strong leadership, staff development, project delivery and client service.
• Ability to develop emerging leaders and Project Managers.
• Excellent communication, organization, judgment and collaboration.
• Familiarity with Deltek, Newforma, Smartsheet and MS Office Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the health, performance, and long-term success of the electrical department.
• Manage department including people, quality, utilization, capacity, and growth.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain electrical staff.
• Conduct performance reviews and career development discussions.
• Identify and develop future project managers and leaders.
• Coordinate with other discipline leads to support project delivery.
