Job summary

The Concord Group in Chicago, IL seeks an Electrical Cost Estimator with 5+ years of experience to join our cost estimating team. You will review drawings, prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, and collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure accurate, cohesive estimates.

Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or equivalent. Travel to job sites will be required as needed to gather information and support project scopes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction electrical cost estimating experience
• Bachelor’s degree in construction related field or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, narratives for completeness and clarity
• Prepare clear detailed quantity takeoffs for specified scopes of work to assist senior estimating team members
• Disseminate information to estimating team to allow for proper completion of estimates
• Ensure all estimating team members complete their portions of work and assemble all data into one cohesive estimate
• Self-review of work product
• Review work product of junior staff
• Lead meetings to review estimates and reconcile with contractor or third party estimators
• Organize travel to jobsites to gather information on materials needed, labor required and other factors related to the scope of work
• Maintain cost database to ensure costs are up to date
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
