Job summary

Virginia Transformer Corporation seeks a Controls Specialist – Corporate Coordinator to standardize and optimize electrical control systems across manufacturing operations. You will lead compliance with NEC/NFPA 70, UL/CE, and IEC, while supporting programming, troubleshooting, and process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or quality engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, digital and analog electronics.
  • Experience with process development, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, UL/CE, and IEC standards.
  • Proven experience applying root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Bilingual: English (B2/C1) and conversational Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, standardize, and implement control system processes across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC/NFPA 70, UL/CE, and IEC standards in all control-related designs and processes.
  • Support programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical control systems and automation.
  • Define and validate electrical connections, control components, and system architectures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve product performance and manufacturability.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for control system failures or quality issues.
  • Evaluate and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, FMEA, and APQP methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and validation of control systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Support new product/process development including testing, validation, and implementation.
  • Train and mentor plant personnel on control systems, processes, and best practices.
