Job summary

KDF Technologies, LLC is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer in Northern NJ to design cutting‑edge electronic systems for high‑tech vacuum environments. This mid‑level role focuses on creating safe, reliable equipment and supporting production.

You will design electrical components, specify power distribution, develop PLC‑based controls, document schematics, and interface with customers. Travel is limited to under 10% per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or electrical technology.
• Proficient in CAD or AutoCAD and 2D drafting.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, UL, and CE codes.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design.

Responsibilities

• Design, detail, and integrate electrical components and systems to deliver innovative and safe equipment solutions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design complex systems.
• Size and specify power distribution and protective circuit design.
• Design and troubleshoot complex PLC-based equipment control systems.
• Create, update, and maintain company documentation for all electrical schematics and cable drawings.
• Interface with customers, sales, and management to define system design parameters.
• Practice DFMA techniques for R&D and production of electrical components and systems.
• Assemble prototype electrical systems and conduct testing of components and sub-modules.
• Perform cost‑effective engineering exercises to optimize component costs.
• Identify and resolve component obsolescence issues efficiently.
• Limited domestic travel, less than 10% per year
