Job summary

TAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer to design and install electrical systems for new equipment in our production environment. You will lead electrical design, supervise installation, and manage contractors through testing and commissioning.

The role requires a strong background in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal/Step 7), AutoCAD proficiency, and knowledge of Siemens hardware. You will travel up to 30% to support projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field.
• Experience in electrical engineering roles.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or other CAD software.
• Experience with PLC programming including Siemens TIA Portal and Step7.
• Experience with Siemens hardware (PLCs 300 & 1500, Remote IO, Safety IO, S120/G120).
• Ability to draft clear technical documents.
• Strong understanding of electronic systems and materials.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of fieldbus protocols like PROFINET/ PROFIBUS/ HART.

Responsibilities

• Integrate electrical systems into new equipment designs.
• Supervise installation of electrical equipment and systems.
• Manage contractors through scope, testing, and commissioning.
• Develop and test electrical components to meet specs.
• Analyze data and create reports on projects.
• Train technicians and coordinate team efforts.
• Communicate across teams to support large projects.
