Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 3–8+ years in industrial electrical/controls engineering.
• Experience with plastic extrusion, converting, or continuous process manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical and controls for plastic extrusion lines and downstream equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, sensors, heaters, and temperature control systems.
• Program, modify, and maintain control systems for extrusion, cooling, conveying, cutting, and packaging.
• Lead electrical and controls improvements to increase uptime, throughput, and process stability.
• Support startup, commissioning, and validation of new extrusion lines and automation projects.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, I/O lists, and controls documentation.
• Work with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Quality to resolve line performance issues.
• Develop and improve standard controls architecture across extrusion assets.
• Support integration of VFDs, servos, data collection systems, and plant network communications.
• Ensure equipment and controls comply with plant safety standards and electrical codes.
• Assist with preventive maintenance strategies for controls and electrical systems.
• Support vendors and contractors during installation, debugging, and project execution.
