Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer for our Dayton, OH client. This full-time, on-site role leads control system design, PLC/HMI programming, field startup, and supports major industrial customers across North America.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 3+ years of hands-on experience, and AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical proficiency. Travel up to 30% and strong problem-solving are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on electrical engineering experience.
• AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical schematics and enclosure layouts using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI control systems (ladder logic and white paper programming).
• Develop parts order sheets and support panel builds.
• Travel to customer sites (up to 30%) for startup, commissioning, and technical support.
• Work closely with project managers and engineering leadership to define scope and support custom builds.
• Interpret electrical codes, perform arc flash calculations, and support internal safety standards.
• Support the continuous improvement of product designs and documentation standards.
