Job summary

Interstates is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to develop and execute detailed, constructable control system designs across diverse projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor peers, and build client relationships to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.

The role offers growth across levels from Electrical Engineer II to Senior Electrical Engineer with strong emphasis on EPLAN and CAD tools, NEC compliance, and field exposure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
  • 2–8 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • EIT/FE certification; PE license preferred for senior roles.
  • Proficiency with electrical terminology, components, and NEC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee project designs from concept to completion.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, field staff, vendors, utilities, and regulators.
  • Plan and conduct site visits to inform design and commissioning.
  • Assign and track team responsibilities for on-time delivery.
  • Build and maintain client relationships with clear communication.
  • Mentor team members and share best practices.
  • Uphold NEC and standards; participate in reviews.
  • Create and review documentation using EPLAN and related tools.
