Job summary

Interstates is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to develop detailed, constructable control system designs for diverse projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor peers, and nurture client relationships to ensure quality and compliance across deliverables.

Qualified candidates have an EE degree (ABET-accredited), 2–8 years of experience, and EIT/FE; PE license is a plus. Proficiency with NEC and EPLAN is preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 2–8 years of engineering experience or equivalent.
• EIT/FE certification; PE license preferred for senior roles.
• Proficiency with electrical terminology and NEC.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee control system designs from concept through completion, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
• Collaborate with internal teams, field staff, panel shop, clients, vendors, utilities, and regulators for alignment.
• Mentor peers, build client relationships, and maintain high quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Leverage EPLAN and other tools to produce robust engineering documentation and designs.
