Job summary

Power Solutions International (PSI) is seeking an Electrical Control Engineer to design and commission electrical control systems for diesel and natural gas generator sets. You will develop panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and PLC/HMI programs, while supporting customers from engineering through on-site commissioning.

You will program and troubleshoot controllers (ComAp, DSE, DEIF, EMCP) and ensure high safety, quality, and reliability in power generation solutions. Travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, test, and commission electrical control systems for diesel and natural gas generator sets.
• Review customer specifications and sales agreements.
• Create and maintain panel/subpanel layouts, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnects using AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, troubleshoot, and commission generator controllers including ComAp, DSE, DEIF, Caterpillar EMCP, and similar genset controller platforms.
• Design engine-generator control systems, including synchronization, load sharing, utility paralleling, peak shaving, and island mode applications.
• Develop and maintain PLC and HMI programs for control panels and other equipment.
• Travel to customer sites for commissioning, troubleshooting, startup support, and technical assistance as required.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable quality, environmental, and safety requirements.
