Electrical Controls Engineer

Location:

Multiple locations in central Ohio (Metro Columbus Ohio area)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a driven Electrical Controls Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team, supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of control systems in a high-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing production system performance and delivering innovative automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and program PLCs, HMIs, and robotics interfaces for new and existing manufacturing systems.
  2. Troubleshoot electrical control systems to ensure minimal downtime and peak operational efficiency.
  3. Lead integration projects involving automation, machine controls, and safety systems.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, maintenance, and production to support equipment launch and continuous improvement initiatives.
  5. Manage controls-related specifications for new equipment and upgrades, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal requirements.
  6. Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment and control system issues.
  7. Support the development and refinement of electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control logic.
  8. Stay informed on emerging technologies in industrial automation and recommend solutions to enhance system capability.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. 0-8 years of experience in electrical controls or automation engineering within a manufacturing or production environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), servo systems, sensors, and industrial communication protocols.
  4. Hands-on experience with electrical schematics, CAD tools, and troubleshooting equipment.
  5. Experience or interests in Robotics.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
  7. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with vision systems, robotics integration, or MES systems.
  • Experience with electrical panel design and UL/CE compliance.
  • Electrical Design experience.
