Position Summary:
We are seeking a driven Electrical Controls Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team, supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of control systems in a high-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enhancing production system performance and delivering innovative automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and program PLCs, HMIs, and robotics interfaces for new and existing manufacturing systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical control systems to ensure minimal downtime and peak operational efficiency.
- Lead integration projects involving automation, machine controls, and safety systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, maintenance, and production to support equipment launch and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage controls-related specifications for new equipment and upgrades, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment and control system issues.
- Support the development and refinement of electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control logic.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies in industrial automation and recommend solutions to enhance system capability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0-8 years of experience in electrical controls or automation engineering within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), servo systems, sensors, and industrial communication protocols.
- Hands-on experience with electrical schematics, CAD tools, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Experience or interests in Robotics.
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarity with vision systems, robotics integration, or MES systems.
- Experience with electrical panel design and UL/CE compliance.
- Electrical Design experience.
