Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred; Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with relevant controls experience considered
  • 3+ years of Controls Engineering in industrial/manufacturing environments
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, manuals, and docs
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robotics, servos, and industrial control systems
  • Proficiency with multimeters and electrical diagnostic tools
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to perform metric conversions and math calculations
  • Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable around moving machinery, loud environments, and occasional outdoor conditions
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and support continuous improvement
  • Independent and team-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, program, test, and implement electrical components, equipment, and control systems
  • Develop and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts
  • Design and support power distribution systems, including switchgear and protection systems
  • Program and integrate PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, robots, servos, and automation hardware
  • Lead electrical integration for new equipment and processes
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements for performance, reliability, safety, and diagnostics
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control issues using software tools and instrumentation
  • Collaborate with electricians, maintenance, production, engineering and contractors
  • Manage project tasks: quotes, budgets, timelines, and purchase requisitions
  • Promote safety, documentation, and a positive working environment
  • Work with suppliers and Applied partners
  • Contribute to projects impacting communities in local service area
  • Apply skills in a dynamic, ownership-driven, innovative environment
