Job summary

Adecco is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to support a complex manufacturing operation in Michigan. The role blends hands-on troubleshooting with project engineering to maintain, improve and automate facility equipment, collaborating with maintenance, operations, and external service providers.

You will work on electrical distribution, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, robotics, and CAD-drawn schematics, leading capital projects from concept to implementation while upholding electrical and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 3+ years of electrical controls, automation, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with HMI and SCADA systems.
• Background supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software.
• Experience with industrial robotics and related automation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical distribution systems, machine controls, PLCs, HMIs, and automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and control systems.
• Develop, modify, and maintain HMI and SCADA applications.
• Lead or support electrical and controls capital projects from concept to implementation.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders on upgrades.
• Provide engineering support for internal and external projects.
• Apply continuous improvement and preventive maintenance to improve reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs.
• Support plant automation initiatives, including robotics and integrated systems.
• Interpret and revise electrical schematics and documentation using CAD.
• Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards.
• Serve as a technical resource for maintenance and operations.
