Job summary

Onward Search is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to join a leading engineering, design and manufacturing company. You will drive product improvements, develop and enhance control systems, troubleshoot electrical and automation issues, and support the launch of new equipment and technologies.

Responsibilities include leading process improvements, upgrading control systems, providing field support, developing PLC programs and lifecycle docs, and collaborating with suppliers and regulatory

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• Proven expertise in ladder logic programming using RS Logix 500/5000.
• Strong understanding of P&ID, process, and electrical wiring diagrams.
• Experience with control hardware such as Pro-face and PanelView, and communication protocols.
• Solid technical writing skills and familiarity with cGMP validation protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvements and new product development ensuring electrical and controls meet standards.
• Oversee upgrades to control systems including hardware, software, documentation, and validation.
• Provide field technical support and troubleshooting for complex electrical and control system issues.
• Develop and maintain PLC programs, drawings, and lifecycle documentation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and regulatory teams to implement enhancements and ensure quality standards.

This role is responsible for driving product improvements, developing and enhancing control systems, troubleshooting electrical and automation issues, and supporting the launch of new equipment and technologies. There is no application deadline for this role.

Electrical Controls Engineer Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives for process improvements and new product development, ensuring all electrical and controls aspects meet testing and qualification standards before release.
• Oversee upgrades and revisions to control systems, including hardware and software modifications, documentation, and validation.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex electrical and control system issues in the field.
• Develop and maintain PLC control programs, drawings, and lifecycle documentation, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers and regulatory teams to implement product enhancements and ensure quality standards are met.

Electrical Controls Engineer Qualifications
