Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer for a role in Mahikeng, South Africa. You will design, implement, and troubleshoot electrical control systems for automated processes and machinery, driving reliability and efficiency across installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical controls engineering and automation.
• Experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networks, VFDs, and servo systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive system improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control panel layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams for automated systems.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other control system components.
• Specify and select electrical components, including sensors, actuators, motor drives, and safety devices.
• Implement and commission control systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for control system issues.
