Our engineers drive packaging innovation, creating new ways to improve and increase performance. We design custom equipment that exceeds customer expectations, working closely with customers and internal teams across sales, manufacturing, and assembly.

Axon seeks a talented Electrical Controls Engineer responsible for designing control panels and electrical systems for packaging machines. This includes preparing technical drawings and specifications, and designing electrical schematics for power supply, PLC, and HMI systems. The position reports to the Engineering Manager.

  • Apply electrical engineering principles to ensure designs are functional, safe, economical, and compliant with codes.
  • Collaborate with team members, project managers, and customers to clarify specifications and project goals.
  • Use CAD software for engineering tasks.
  • Work with technicians to ensure quality standards in control panel assembly and wiring.
  • Create bills of materials and revise designs to meet project deadlines.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and debug machine systems during manufacturing and testing.
  • Provide technical support during installation, start-up, and maintenance.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and manage electronic files.
  • Coordinate with sales, purchasing, and other departments to meet delivery and quality goals.
  • Update drawings and BOMs with engineering changes.
  • Monitor project milestones to ensure timely completion.

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 5-7 years of practical experience in electrical design or application engineering
  • Knowledge of UL, NEMA, and CE standards
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical
  • Understanding of electrical standards, PLC & HMI logic, motors, and power distribution
  • Dedicated, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects
  • Strong computer skills and communication abilities
  • Willingness to travel as needed
