Job summary

Koester Corporation, located in Napoleon, OH, is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering department as a Project Engineer. You will design electrical drawings in AutoCAD Electrical, develop PLC/HMI programs, and collaborate with the panel shop to ensure quality panels for on-site installations.

With a minimum of five years in controls engineering and a four-year engineering degree, you will engage with clients to tailor design solutions and travel to job sites

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of Controls Engineering Experience.
Four-year Engineering Degree.
Competence in AutoCAD Electrical.
Proficiency in using Rockwell or Siemens controls equipment.
Familiarity with HMI/SCADA software.
Proficient use of normal electrical test measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

Design projects in AutoCAD Electrical and create comprehensive electrical drawings and schematics.
Develop PLC and HMI programs and troubleshoot to ensure functionality.
Interact with clients to understand needs and formulate design solutions.
Collaborate with the panel shop during panel build to ensure design adherence.
Travel to job sites for installation and start-up and coordinate with on-site personnel.

Essential Skills And Duties

Design Projects in AutoCAD Electrical:

Create comprehensive electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
Ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards in the design process.
Collaborate with others on the engineering team to incorporate project requirements into the drawings.

PLC And HMI Program Development

Develop programmable logic controller (PLC) and human-machine interface (HMI) programs.
Troubleshoot and debug programs to ensure optimal functionality.
Stay updated on industry advancements in PLC and HMI technology to integrate the latest features into projects.

Interact With Customers To Formulate a Design Solution

Engage with clients to understand their electrical engineering needs and project specifications.
Provide professional expertise and recommendations to create tailored design solutions.
Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.

Work With Our Panel Shop During Panel Build Phase

Collaborate closely with the panel shop team to oversee the construction and testing of electrical control panels.
Ensure that panels meet design specifications and quality standards.

Travel To Job Site For Installation And Start-up

Conduct on-site visits to oversee the installation of electrical systems.
Coordinate with on-site personnel and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
Facilitate the start-up process, ensuring all systems function according to design specifications.
