Job summary

RapidVisionPak in Appleton, Wisconsin is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to own controls systems from concept through customer installation on automated packaging machinery.

You will design electrical control systems, program Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs, develop software with Ladder Logic and Structured Text, and configure servo systems, motion control, VFDs, sensors, and safety devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Experience with Studio 5000 and Allen-Bradley PLC programming.
• Proficiency in Ladder Logic and Structured Text.
• Electrical schematic and control panel design experience.
• Knowledge of servo systems, motion control, VFDs, sensors, and automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel ~15–20%.

What You'll Do

As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will take ownership of controls systems from concept through customer installation.

You'll:

• Design electrical control systems for automated packaging machinery
• Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
• Develop machine software using Ladder Logic and Structured Text
• Configure servo systems, motion control, VFDs, industrial networks, and safety devices
• Integrate machine vision and advanced automation technologies
• Support machine startup, commissioning, and customer installations
• Work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and customers to deliver industry-leading equipment solutions

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience
• Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience utilizing Studio 5000
• Experience with Ladder Logic and Structured Text
• Electrical schematic and control panel design experience
• Knowledge of servo systems, motion control, VFDs, sensors, and industrial automation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to travel approximately 15-20%
