Job summary

Sea America Inc. in Alpharetta, GA seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to implement and troubleshoot electrical control systems, perform PLC/HMI commissioning, collect data, and optimize control systems. Role requires design, analysis and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications include 3+ years in controls engineering, a related bachelor's degree, AutoCAD proficiency, and strong communication skills. Domestic travel up to 70% is possible; salary range provided is per hour.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supporting US customer manufacturing tool controls.
• Assisting with coordination of new equipment installation and implementation.
• Maintaining and updating manufacturing process tool electrical drawings, ensuring the tracking of equipment changes is documented, and drawings are kept current.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving equipment controls-related issues and recommending controls policy/standard changes.
• Interfacing with multiple departments within the organization and customer stakeholders to ensure controls policies/standards are understood and being adhered to.
• Maintaining effective communication levels and fostering team building.
• Ensuring adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
• Maintaining OSHA 10 – General Industry certification and participates in additional safety training as required.

Electrical Controls Engineer

Position Summary:

Requires taking a role in the implementation and troubleshooting of electrical control systems/designs, PLC/HMI commissioning, performing equipment checks, equipment/system start-ups, data collection, and optimization of control systems.

Education/Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing equipment controls engineering experience.


• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent years of work experience

Required Skills/Competencies:

• Experience in controls engineering techniques and practices.


• Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic control systems.


• Understanding of manufacturing processes and safety requirements.


• Experience using AutoDesk AutoCad drafting software to create electrical schematics and panel layouts.


• Experience with Rockwell Automation Logix platform PLC's, including ladder and function block diagrams.


• Experience with Rockwell Automation Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).


• Knowledge of PLC Siemens and Mitsubishi platforms.


• Knowledge of robotic systems including safety requirements and design/implementation practices.


• Experience with motion controls including stepper motors, servo motors, and AC/DC Drives.


• Understanding of computer hardware/applications and the Microsoft Office family.


• Some Microsoft SQL Server Database configuration experience.


• Experience in at least one multi-tiered architecture using C#, VB.NET, HTML, XML and SQL.


• Excellent communication skills both oral and written.


• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting Relationships

• Reports to the Senior CS Manager.

Travel

• Up to 70% - Primarily domestic with some international, as needed to support project requirements.

Estimated Salary Range

• $36 - $40/hr, based on location and experience.
