Job summary

CECO Environmental is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the engineering team. You will design and support electrical systems, prepare technical documentation, and contribute to proposals with scope and estimates.

The role involves CAD-driven design, PLC/relay control, and collaboration with sales and project teams. Requirements include a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 3–5 years’ experience, and AutoCAD proficiency, with bonus for PLC logic and process control knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program.
• 3–5 years’ experience designing industrial control equipment.
• AutoCAD experience required.
• Experience designing control panels based on relay or PLC control.
• Experience writing PLC control logic is a plus.
• Knowledge of plant process control and monitoring is a plus.
• Working knowledge of IEC, NEC and NFPA codes/standards.
• Proficiency in technical writing.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, professional team environment.

Responsibilities

• Research and review project requirements to ensure design feasibility.
• Designs control systems based on customer specifications.
• Assist with preparation of engineering documents.
• Communicate with project team to meet deadlines and essential functions.
• Create designs/drawings using CAD templates or update existing CAD files.
• Analyze reports, drawings, and tests to plan and design projects.
• Complete the design process in line with the Scope of Work, with quality checks.
• Review drawings to ensure alignment with scoping and standards.
• Assist sales with scope and estimates for proposals.
• Perform inspection and surveillance duties for outsourced electrical procurement.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
