Base pay range

$57.69/hr - $62.50/hr

Title: Electrical Engineer (Construction Management – VA Medical Center)

Clearance/Requirements: Must obtain VA PIV badge and pass background check

Seeking a Electrical Engineer/CM to support a major infrastructure modernization project at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This role provides construction management and engineering oversight for the replacement of facility electrical switchgear and automatic transfer systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide construction-phase engineering support for electrical infrastructure upgrades, including switchgear, ATS systems, and related distribution equipment.
  • Review plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change proposals for technical accuracy and code compliance.
  • Perform field inspections to monitor contractor work quality, progress, and adherence to NFPA, NEC, and VA design standards.
  • Coordinate with VA project managers, CORs, facility engineering teams, and construction contractors.
  • Prepare technical reports, meeting notes, schedule updates, and other project documentation.
  • Maintain meticulous records and ensure all deliverables meet VA technical and safety requirements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical design and construction for large facilities
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, NFPA/NEC codes, and healthcare environments
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and software skills (MS Office, Bluebeam, project tools)
