Job summary

Cummings Electrical, headquartered near the Dallas–Fort Worth area, is seeking College Interns to gain hands-on field experience on large commercial projects. Interns will assist the Area Supervisor and Superintendent in coordinating information, documenting reports, and supporting safety and field operations in Texas.

Eligible candidates are sophomores or juniors pursuing a four-year degree and planning to relocate to the DFW area for the program.

Qualifications

• Must be a current sophomore or junior enrolled in a four-year bachelor’s degree program.
• Maintain a strong academic record and demonstrate interest in electrical construction.
• Excellent communication and written communication skills; ability to collaborate and organize.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; professional demeanor and teamwork orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and developing the construction schedule.
• Maintain basic project records, reports, RFIs, and memorandums.
• Assist in daily labor timesheet processing and JHA preparation.
• Coordinate field operations and supervise subcontractor activities as needed.
• Support field surveying, layout, and interpretation of drawings for crews.
• Help obtain information for shop drawings and submittals and track approvals.
• Contribute to safety meetings and site safety reviews.
• Assist cost control, quality, productivity, and safety monitoring on projects.

Education

Pursuing four-year bachelor's degree

Sophomore or junior standing
