Job summary

McClure Engineering seeks an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning of electrical systems in construction and manufacturing environments. You will perform design reviews, develop test procedures, and document results while coordinating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role demands 4+ years in commissioning, knowledge of NEC/NECA standards, and experience with JCI, ALC, Trane, EcoStructure, and Siemens systems. Travel and on-site field work are expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university; Construction Management/Engineering Technology with experience
• 4+ years direct commissioning or related experience in facility systems such as electrical, life safety, and lighting
• General Contractor background applicable; experience in manufacturing checkout/startup
• Understanding of NEC and NECA standards
• Background in operation and maintenance of electrical equipment and control systems
• Strong communication, supervisory, and organizational skills with clients and teams
• Proficient with automation systems (JCI, ALC, Trane, EcoStructure, Siemens) and MS Office
• Familiarity with test equipment (IR cameras, data loggers, multimeters, power quality meters)
• Willing to travel out of town for a few days; able to lift 25 pounds; PPE provided
• Ability to work on construction sites and industrial facilities

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of commissioning of electrical systems
• Commissioning design reviews and create commissioning plans
• Translate contract documents into commissioning procedures
• Develop, execute, and document test procedures (pre-functional, functional, integrated)
• Coordinate communications, reporting, and project updates
• Oversee project management aspects including schedule review and budget controls
