Actalent is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Engineer for a contract-to-hire role in Cedar Park, TX. You will plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning for electrical distribution systems and oversee testing activities onsite.

The role requires 2-4 years in power systems/commissioning and a BS in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited); FE/EIT is preferred. Onsite work with opportunities to advance within the organization.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee inspections, acceptance testing, startup verification, and functional testing.
• Test protection and control circuits for transformers, switchgear, breakers, feeders, and buses.
• Verify installation against drawings and procedures.
• Support testing of ATS, generators, UPS, and emergency power systems.
• Identify deficiencies, coordinate corrective actions, and retest before turnover.

Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Description

Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities for low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical equipment and distribution systems, as applicable to project scope.

Oversee and participate in electrical equipment inspections, acceptance testing, startup verification, and functional performance testing.

Perform functional testing of protection and control circuits associated with transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, feeders, bus systems, and associated electrical distribution equipment.

Verify electrical equipment installation and operation against approved engineering drawings, specifications, and commissioning procedures.

Support testing and commissioning of automatic transfer switches, generators, UPS systems, and emergency power distribution equipment where applicable.

Verify system operating sequences, interlocks, control functions, protective trips, alarms, and alternate power operating configurations.

Conduct pre-energization checks, startup testing, and operational verification in accordance with approved procedures and project requirements.

Support integrated systems testing to evaluate performance under normal, emergency, and alternate operating conditions.

Identify and troubleshoot equipment deficiencies, control circuit discrepancies, operational abnormalities, and commissioning failures.

Coordinate corrective actions, retesting, and resolution of technical issues before system acceptance and turnover.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelors degree in electrical engineering from a top ABET accredited school, with a focus on Power Systems studies, internship in a related industry a plus.

2-4 years of power systems, commissioning, testing, or related engineering experience.

preferred FE/EIT certification.

Understanding of utility, industrial, and mission-critical power systems.

Working knowledge of protective relay testing and commissioning.

Ability to independently execute routine engineering assignments.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and client interaction abilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
