Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in McKinney, TX is seeking an engineer to provide technical expertise and support for production testing and troubleshooting of CCAs and complex systems. The role requires hands-on use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies to diagnose issues and implement corrective actions.

You will investigate failure trends, perform root cause analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce cycle time and production costs while maintaining high reliability.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with standard electrical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Experience reading mechanical drawings or electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of RF product testing and/or EO/IR products.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), sub-assemblies, or complex systems.
  • Familiarity with common circuit components, such as Op-Amps, Multiplexers, H-bridges, ADC/DACs.
  • Experience designing experiments to troubleshoot failures or investigate production issues such as RCCA investigations.
  • Familiarity reading memory maps and datasheets.
  • Strong data analysis skills to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work initiatives focused on reducing cycle time, minimizing touch time, and optimizing overall production costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges in production.
  • Operate and utilize standard electrical equipment to support troubleshooting and system evaluations.

What You Will Do

  • Familiarity with common circuit components, such as Op-Amps, Multiplexers, H-bridges, ADC/DACs.
  • Experience designing experiments to troubleshoot failures or investigate production issues such as Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.
  • Familiarity in reading and interpreting memory maps and datasheets.
  • Strong skills in data analysis to identify trends and recommend improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Active Secret Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD.
