Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a CADD Designer to bolster the Electrical team in Irvine, CA, with an option for remote work. The role focuses on setting up and managing construction drawings for civil infrastructure projects and coordinating with Project Managers and engineers to deliver high-quality CAD outputs.

The candidate should have an Associate degree in CADD or related field and at least five years of experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with REVIT a plus.

Position Summary:

Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to set up and manage construction drawings for a variety of projects related mostly to civil infrastructure.

Essential Job Functions:

The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:

• Prepare dimensional drawings, create and/or modify base drawings
• Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes
• Create and manage electronic document file structure, naming conventions in accordance with company standards
• Work a typical set of project documents from beginning to end with professional quality output
• Work on multiple projects at the same time to successful completion
• Follow CAD standards, whether the customer’s or Tetra Tech’s
• Work with project teams on drawings which meet and exceed the customer’s requirements (bid and submittal phase).
• Manage priorities while being involved in multiple projects at the same time.

Required Qualifications:

• Associates degree in CADD or a related field.
• 5 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD
• Knowledge using Autodesk REVIT is a plus
• Excellent communications skills: Interpersonal, listening, oral and written
• Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office
• Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications
• Familiar with design parameters related to electrical work for buildings and water and wastewater treatment plants.
• Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures
• Able to work with minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment
• Able to efficiently schedule and manage time
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member
• Must be able to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer
