Electrical CAD Technician - Transmission & Distribution (Houston)

Join our team as an Electrical CAD Technician - Transmission & Distribution (Houston) at Burns & McDonnell.

This role involves supporting technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers to produce high-quality detailed drawings for various projects. You will assist in developing computer-aided drafting solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in preparing and revising engineering drawings based on sketches or layouts.
2. Prepare and revise plot drawings.
3. Ensure compliance with company and client drafting standards and procedures.
4. Follow discipline-specific drafting practices.
5. Contribute to drafting design and documentation for projects.
6. Utilize standard drafting detail programs for tasks.
7. Participate in ongoing drafting detail improvements.
8. Research and recommend solutions to project concerns and design problems.
9. Support ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
10. Perform other duties as needed.
11. Adhere to all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with coursework in drafting technology.
• CAD certification is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
