Job summary

PTS Advance is seeking an experienced CAD Designer to support electrical design and drafting projects in Fort Worth, TX. You will develop 2D electrical drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor, following established drafting standards and project requirements.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in CAD and at least two years of drafting experience, with strong attention to detail, the ability to read engineering drawings and redlines, and familiarity with vendor cut

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD Inventor 3D.
• Ability to work with AutoCAD Electrical or Bentley MicroStation is a plus.
• Strong understanding of drafting principles and ability to read engineering drawings and redlines.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and update electrical drawings, layouts, details, schematics, and wiring drawings.
• Develop 3D parts and equipment models using AutoCAD Inventor.
• Interpret engineering redlines, sketches, notes, markups, vendor information, and reference drawings.
• Set up discipline-specific drawings, sheet sets, borders, and templates at project startup.
• Apply company and client drafting standards, layering conventions, and project requirements.
• Review completed drawings for accuracy, completeness, and quality before submission.
• Communicate with engineers and design originators to clarify requirements and resolve drafting discrepancies.
• Provide basic drafting guidance and support to entry-level drafting personnel as needed.
• Utilize advanced CAD commands, shortcuts, routines, and other productivity tools to maintain efficient production.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer to support electrical design and drafting projects. This is an intermediate-level production role for someone with strong CAD skills who is ready to take on more complex, non-routine drafting assignments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor and be comfortable working from engineering redlines, markups, sketches, reference CAD files, and manufacturer cut sheets. You’ll work closely with engineers and design teams to develop accurate 2D electrical drawings and 3D models while following established drafting and project standards.
