Job summary

IPS is seeking a dedicated EPOC (electrical Point of Contact) Technician to support on-site design and CAD work in Malta, NY. You will collaborate with design engineers to develop drawings and perform basic engineering calculations, ensuring coordination and design intent.

This role requires travel and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate holds a technical or associate degree in design, demonstrates strong communication, and can manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Technical or Associate Degree in design from an accredited institution.
• Proven time management skills to juggle more than one project at a time.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• General knowledge of system design.

Responsibilities

• Work with assigned design engineers and designers to execute design drawings for assigned projects.
• Use CAD technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents.
• Set up views/sheets within Revit or AutoCAD for use on a project, using established naming conventions.
• Learn basic engineering/design calculations (motor feeder sizing, HP/kW to amps, branch circuit loads, voltage drop).
• Collaborate with equipment vendors to obtain necessary information for design completion.
• Research equipment selection from catalogs under project direction.
• Become proficient in using computers for design and CAD applications.
• Ensure quality and coordination reflects design intent and coordination.
• Keep Project Designer/Engineer informed of workload and request more work when needed.
• Perform special projects as assigned.
