Job summary

MasTec Power Delivery is seeking a CAD Designer/ drafter to support electrical transmission line projects across the United States. You will prepare preliminary and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit from field notes and photos, develop site plans and profiles, and assist with permit packages for Right-Of-Way and encroachments.

The role requires 3+ years of AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects while

Qualifications

• Team-oriented work either remotely or in office.
• Self-starter with initiative and reliability.
• High attention to detail in producing drawings and docs.
• Maintain professional communication through email, phone, video, or text.
• Strong time management and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Report project anomalies to team members via established tools or verbally.
• Wear and use PPE and follow safety rules at all times.
• Keep an organized workstation and filing system on computer.
• Be punctual for daily start times and meetings.
• Complete timekeeping/documentation daily or weekly.
• Willingness to work after normal hours as needed.
• Possess a current state driver’s license without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and detailed drawings from field notes, photos, or other sources.
• Produce and maintain grading plans, site plans, cross-sections, and profiles.
• Prepare construction permits for infrastructure placement (encroachment, ROW, easement).
• General document prep, data entry, and filling required documents.
• Weekly meetings with management on project status.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet requirements.
• Communicate and resolve fielding document issues with stakeholders.
• Ensure safety compliance with OSHA, NEC, PPE, etc.
• Create High Level CAD designs when needed.
• Identify process waste and suggest improvements.
• Ensure all design activities align with contracts and schedules.
• Prioritize safety in all duties.
