Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Everett, WA is seeking an Electrical CAD/BIM Designer to develop design and construction documents for electrical power systems on building projects under the supervision of Senior Engineers. You will coordinate drawings with other disciplines, including HVAC and architectural scopes, and apply AutoCAD and Revit proficiency to deliver accurate models.

The role requires a design/drafting or BIM degree and 3–5 years of electrical power design drafting experience, with SKM/Easy

• Associate or technical degree in design/drafting/BIM.
• 3–5 years of electrical power design drafting/modeling experience.
• Experience with power model tools SKM and Easy Power is highly desired.
• Strong understanding of AutoCAD drawing setup, layering and blocks.
• Strong understanding of Revit models, families, templates, and clash detection tools.
• Design experience in AC service and distribution, DC power and distribution, standby generators, UPS, grounding, lighting, security and fire protection is preferred.

Job Summary

Our Everett, WA office is seeking an Electrical CAD/BIM Designer to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment. This role is to develop design and construction documents for electrical power systems for buildings under the supervision of Senior Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system drawings/models of a given project based on scope of work, client RFPs, and direction from Sr Engineers.
• Coordinating drawings / model with other disciplines, including HVAC, controls, fire protection, structural & architectural scopes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Associate or technical degree from a design/drafting/BIM program
• 3-5 years of electrical power design drafting/modeling experience
• Experience with power model tools (SKM and Easy Power) is highly desired.
• Candidates to have a strong understanding of AutoCAD and drawing set up, layering and the use of blocks.
• Candidates to have a strong understanding of Revit models, families, templates, and clash detection tools.
• Design experience in AC service and distribution, DC power and distribution, standby generators, uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS), grounding, lighting, security and fire protection is also preferred.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office software
• Ability to travel to client sites is preferred but not required

Preferred

• Familiarity with the National Electric Code and municipal codes.
• Understand sequences of operations.
• Understand power flow and distribution in low voltage systems

Travel

Travel up to 20% may be required to support governance reviews, executive steering committee meetings, audits, business stakeholder engagement, and team collaboration activities.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is $40-$45 USD per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
