Job summary

Lower Merion School District is seeking a Skilled Building Crafts - Electrical Building Technician for 1st shift. This full-time, 12-month position involves installing, testing and repairing building electrical systems across district facilities.

Requires a Master Electrician or Journeyman license, five years’ experience, the ability to read plans, and PA certifications; salary starts at 70,305 per year and is set by the district's collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years' experience in Residential, Commercial, or Institutional Electrical trades.
• Certification - Master Electrician Preferred or Journeyman License.
• Valid PA driver's license.
• ACT 34 and 151 clearance and FBI clearance.
• Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with others.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair high voltage building panels and disconnects across district facilities.
• Calculate electrical equipment and system requirements; install conduit, conductors, junction boxes, and lighting systems.
• Replace ballasts; repair motors, starters, pumps, and electrical aspects of chillers, boilers, fans, and related equipment.
• Test safety equipment and emergency lighting; inspect and review electrical work as assigned.
• Track work orders, coordinate with contractors, and ensure compliance with district standards.
