Job summary

Capital Electric in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Branch Manager to lead all branch functions in sales, administration and operations, driving budgeting, inventory control, profitability and customer satisfaction while pursuing market growth.

You will mentor sales staff, manage cross dock operations, oversee branch inventories, enforce safety, and promote strong, local market insights to grow Capital Electric's share as a top distributor in the region.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree with an emphasis on business; or combination of related knowledge and training.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical products and distribution industry with a minimum of 4-years of industry related experience.
• Experience working in the Eclipse ERP is preferred.
• 2-3 years supervisory/training experience.
• Proven leadership and organization skills.
• Able to problem solve.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 lbs., occasionally more.
• Reliable, responsible, and a great work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate, meet, and/or exceed customer needs and expectations with urgency.
• Grow market share using selling skills, account management, and customer relations.
• Provide leadership to projects and staff to grow customer base and margins.
• Manage branch administration and daily business operations.
• Oversee cross dock logistics for accurate, efficient material flow.
• Manage branch inventories including purchasing, shipping, receiving, warehousing and re-ordering.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and report hazards.
• Select and train associates and assign responsibilities to ensure profitability.
• Provide direction, priorities, and energetic leadership to influence coworkers.
• Offer local market insights; adapt with flexibility, innovation and risk-taking.
• Support teamwork and cross-regional cooperation to achieve goals.
