Job summary

HDR is seeking a Digital Design Lead in Phoenix to shape electrical design for facilities and coordinate BIM teams. You will craft detailed electrical designs for lighting, power, communications, security and fire detection in accordance with NEC.

You will perform basic calculations, produce drawings, edit master specifications, and guide less-experienced BIM Technicians while delivering high-quality, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications: Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool.
  • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Electrical Engineers and EITs to create detailed electrical designs for facilities, including lighting systems, power systems, communications, security and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Perform basic system calculations, drawing production, and some master specification editing
  • Perform assignments utilizing standard engineering techniques and procedures under the supervision of a licensed professional
  • Direct the efforts of less-experienced BIM Technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
