Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System has an opening for an Electrical Avionics Technician 1. The selected candidate will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be supporting the B-2 modification team at Whiteman AFB, Mo. This is an entry-level position and requires a security clearance, so an active clearance is preferred, but a clearance request will be submitted for the selected candidate if necessary. The nature of this position requires individuals to be comfortable working in a classified environment; cell phones and personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.

Your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  1. Install, test, troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics and electrical system components in accordance with testing, engineering, maintenance and installation directives.
  2. Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves.
  3. Maintenance tasks include configuring aircraft for modifications, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts.
  4. Able to obtain full face respirator certification.
  5. Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems.
  6. Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor.
  7. Must obtain and maintain qualifications as directed by supervisor.

The selected candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on business needs, including, but not limited to: 1st shift 0630 – 1500, 2nd shift 1430 – 2300 and overtime when required.

Basic Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or GED and 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
  2. Must be able to successfully complete and pass electrical training class for Continued Employment.
  3. Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working overhead.
  4. Must be able to access small confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment.
  5. The ability to pass Special Medical/Respiratory Exam.
  6. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Secret clearance is required prior to starting.
  7. Must be able to obtain required Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet business needs.
  8. Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include second shift, extended shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays to support modification team work.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 6 years.
  2. Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work with others at all levels of the organization.
  3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  4. Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence.

Salary Range: $37,500.00 - $62,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
