The successful candidate will support multi-specialty teams engaged in aircraft research and development activities. Responsibilities

  • Support multi-specialty teams in aircraft research and development.
  • Provide technical assistance for system engineering and maintenance.
  • Monitor Contractor-generated technical data for accuracy.
  • Ensure technical accuracy of responses to TO 00-25-107 requests from USAF maintenance units and support 24/7 Emergency Telephone lines periodically.
  • Assist in performing technical evaluations on aircraft electrical systems, ground support systems and SE requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate proposed design changes and revisions.
  • Review non-conformance reports and recommended corrective actions for technical adequacy.
  • Provide risk assessments for aircraft and SE system deficiencies.
  • Review OEM failure analysis reports for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Assist Government by supporting mishap ground and flight safety investigations.
  • Review and provide recommendations for major and minor engineering changes.
  • Support formulation and coordination of new electrical design specifications.
  • Review new electrical systems designs to ensure sustainability and compliance with USAF requirements.
  • Assess and evaluate subjective and objective data from test execution.
  • Support safety and accident investigations boards and liaise between USAF boards and the system/subsystem manufacture.
  • Assist Government oversight of R&M projects to ensure SOWs define objectives, cost estimates are reasonable, and changes meet USAF requirements.
  • Coordinate with Det 3 equipment specialists on design changes to address maintenance, SE, and TO impacts.
  • Support TPWGs, as well as PDR, CDR and FDRs for hardware and software systems.
  • Support AFLCMC/WII program management during parts procurement by providing cost estimates and cost-benefit analyses early.

Job description

Specialized Education and Experience Required

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an electrical engineer supporting multi-specialty teams to achieve results specified by program leadership in aircraft research, development, production, and lifecycle acquisition and sustainment activities.
  • Provide technical assistance as required to resolve system engineering and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor aircraft and component Contractor-generated technical data, technical manuals, and engineering changes for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Ensure the technical accuracy and adequacy of responses to TO 00-25-107 technical assistance requests from USAF maintenance units. The Contractor shall be available to support the week-long 24/7 Emergency Telephone Support line on a periodic basis and be available to commute to the General Atomics facility within 2 hours of an emergency phone call.
  • Assist in the performance of technical evaluations on aircraft electrical systems, ground support systems and SE requirements.

  • Coordinate with Det 3 equipment specialists on all design changes to ensure maintenance, SE, and TO impacts are adequately addressed.
  • Support TPWGs, as well as PDR, CDR and FDRs for both hardware and software systems.
  • Support AFLCMC/WII program management during the parts procurement process for all design changes by providing procurement and fielding cost estimates and cost benefit analysis as early as possible.
