Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a versatile aerospace engineer to define system requirements, architectures, and interfaces for prototype aircraft avionics. You will evaluate COTS electrical products, develop software/hardware solutions, and create detailed schematics and documentation to support certification efforts.

You will plan ground and flight tests, troubleshoot complex subsystems, and own major deliverables from concept through deployment.

Qualifications

• Must have fundamental knowledge of electrical systems from power to signal level.
• Experience in software and/or electronic hardware development.
• Strong problem solving, organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with PCB design and layout.
• Familiarity with aviation standards and regulatory requirements such as FAA Part 23/25, FAR.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• 2-5 years of aerospace/defense/aviation engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Define system requirements, architectures, and interfaces for avionics solutions.
• Evaluate and adapt COTS electrical/avionics products for program needs.
• Develop software and hardware solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and docs.
• Plan, execute, and analyze ground/flight tests; troubleshoot and validate.
• Own major subsystems from concept to deployment and provide technical guidance.
• Coordinate with electricians, technicians, and manufacturing during integration.
