Job summary
Smithfield Foods in Nashville, TN is seeking an Electrical Automation Technician to maintain, troubleshoot and improve electrical and automation systems in the production facility. You will follow safety rules, uphold food safety standards, and support the maintenance team in a fast-paced environment.
The role requires a two-year technical certificate, experience with PLCs and Allen Bradley/Rockwell automation, strong problem-solving, and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Must have a two-year certificate or equivalent education/experience.
- Experience with electrical schematics and safety rules.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents in English.
- Experience with Allen Bradley/Rockwell automation.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to safe work practices and complete monthly safety audits.
- Comply with GMPs and maintain sanitary conditions.
- Interpret electrical schematics and user manuals.
- Troubleshoot process issues with automation software and PLCs.
- Troubleshoot hardware issues with PLCs and touchscreens.
- Use network troubleshooting to diagnose control networking issues.
- Collaborate with IT to maintain servers.
- Create user manuals and training documentation.
- Identify and facilitate process and automation improvements.
- Provide leadership to maintenance technicians.
- Maintain all electrical/automation documentation for the facility.
