Job summary

Astro Machine Works in Ephrata, PA is hiring a Full-Time Electrical Assembly Technician to build, wire and test custom electrical equipment per customer specs. Hours are flexible Monday–Friday, starting between 5:00 AM and 7:30 AM and ending between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM, with overtime.

The role requires reading schematics, following test procedures, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure quality.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in electrical panel building and wiring.
• Ability to read and interpret various customer drawings and specs.
• Proficient with manual and power hand tools, gauges, etc.
• Flexibility is required due to custom nature of work.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes with rigging.
• Ability to follow test and checkout procedures to meet criteria.
• Willingness to perform milling, lathe, and grinding when needed.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels and custom assemblies.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Install components, route wiring, and assemble cable harnesses.
• Use crimpers, multimeters, gauges and measuring devices.

Role

Astro Machine Works is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Assembly Technician for our growing team. Hours are flexible Monday-Friday starting between 5AM and 7:30Am and ending between 3:30PM and 5PM, plus overtime.

The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing custom electrical equipment built to customer specifications. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong electrical aptitude, and the ability to identify potential non-conformances during all stages of the build. The Electrical Assembler must work in strict compliance with customer drawings, electrical schematics, and quality standards to ensure every finished product meets or exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

• Build and wire electrical control panels and custom assemblies


• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and detailed specifications


• Install components, route wiring, perform terminations, and assemble cable harnesses


• Use electrical tools such as crimpers, multimeters, gauges, and measuring devices


• Perform electrical testing and functional checkout


• Identify wiring issues or non-conforming conditions and correct them promptly


• Work safely with forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment to move assemblies


• Maintain exceptional workmanship, clean work habits, and compliance with ISO 9001 standards


• Collaborate with engineering and production teams throughout the build process

Requirements

• 3-5 years experience in electrical panel building and associated wiring


• Ability to read and comprehend a variety of different types of customer drawings and specifications


• Proficient with manual and power hand tools, gauges, etc.


• Flexibility is a must due to the custom nature of our service


• Ability to safety operate a forklift and overhead cranes including knowledge of rigging with the use of slings, chains, etc.


• Ability to understand and follow test and checkout procedures while strictly adhering to specified criteria


• Flexibility to perform millwork, lathe, and grinding procedures during course of assembly on parts requiring alterations
