Duties & Responsibilities of the Electrical Assembly Technician
- Assembles wiring harnesses, cables, relay boxes, and control panels.
- Reads and interprets electrical assembly drawings, wire diagrams, shop orders, work instructions, and manufacturing orders.
- Disassembles and cleans components for aviation and ground vehicle fuel systems.
- Operates a broad variety of equipment and hand/power tools safely and efficiently.
- Performs functions in the ERP system related to the position.
- Tests and troubleshoots sub‑system components and complete assemblies.
- Adheres to Export Control and Technology Control Plan (TCP) as applicable to the job function.
- Adheres to Compliance Plan and Employee Policy Manual.
- Accomplishes duties with minimal or intermittent supervision.
- Reads and understands contracts generated by picking tickets.
- Initiates change/deficiency requests for drawings, work orders, work instructions, and manufacturing orders.
- Screens assembly of sub‑system components and complete assemblies.
- Assists with training and on‑the‑job learning initiatives for less experienced Electrical Assembly Technicians.
- Prepares systems and assembled components to meet all quality standards and guidelines before ATL, Quality, and DCMA inspection.
- Interacts with Contracts, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering as required.
- Interacts with Quality and Supply Chain as required.
- Marginal duties may include general and detailed cleaning of the production floor: sweeping, mopping, waxing, emptying garbage cans, etc.
- Additional duties may be assigned as required.
