Summary
The Electrical Assembly Technician assembles and installs electrical control panel assemblies, conduit runs, and performs device wiring.
Essential Functions
- Using electric or air‑powered tools to drill, grind, etc. as required to fit parts together to form a final assembly.
- Position component parts according to material and blueprint lists.
- Perform electrical wiring tasks that require standing, sitting, bending and assuming many different positions throughout the day.
- Skill in bending and installation of EMT and rigid conduit.
- Read and interpret prints and perform assembly and installation of devices and components accordingly.
- Work off ladders and in tight spaces.
- Focus on quality, customer service, safety, and productivity.
- Read blueprints, be familiar with electrical codes, and use a multimeter to test control panels.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2‑year technical degree or related field preferred.
- 1 to 5 years related experience in electrical wiring in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, or wire diagrams.
- Experience running electrical conduit.
- Experience wiring electrical products and in industrial panel fabrication and testing.
- Good problem‑solving and troubleshooting ability.
Other Requirements
- Work Environment: Non‑temperature‑controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles; personal protective equipment required (noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, OSHA‑compliant safety boots/shoes).
- Physical Demands: Stand for long periods; walk, reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop; occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds; requires good vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth).
- Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full‑time, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; additional hours and weekends may be required.
- Travel: No travel required.
