Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical devices and run conduit as per standard instructions.
  • Ensure safety and quality while maintaining a clean work area.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical conditions.

Job description

The Electrical Assembler performs various duties on power control rooms including bending, running, installing, and terminating electrical conduit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Learn and adhere to all safety policies and practices to avoid safety incidents
  2. Learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure consistent production
  3. Ensure quality by following standard work/process instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality
  4. Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized
  5. Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  6. Constantly standing
  7. Frequently working from a ladder, and climbing up and down ladders
  8. Constantly working overhead
  9. Constantly working in cramped quarters
  10. Install electrical devices (disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, lighting contactors, VFDs, etc.)
  11. Bend, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid)
  12. Install wireway
  13. Install cable tray
  14. Pull wire and large cable
  15. Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires
  16. Install wiring by following standard work/process instructions (NEC Manual)
  17. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Education and Experience:
  1. Minimum of high school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant manufacturing experience
  2. Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  1. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  2. Knowledge of air, hand, and power tools
  3. Basic mechanical knowledge
  4. Ability to read a tape measure
  5. New hires will run through an 8 week training course and must be able to pass written and hands on tests covering topics listed under Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  6. Training class will be conducted on 1st shift regardless of what shift the individual is employed on
  7. Employee is expected to meet or exceed established productivity run rates within 6 months of date of hire

Preferred:

  1. Ability to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid)
  2. Experience installing cable tray
  3. Experience installing wire way
  4. Ability to crimp and terminate wires
  5. Ability to read drawings or blueprints
  6. Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components (panel boards, transformers, disconnects, terminal blocks, relays, lighting contactors, etc.)
  7. Basic exposure to and awareness of NEC
