Job description

About the Role

The Electrical Assembler will be responsible for assembling build-to-order large electrical cabinets, including Orion products, relays, knife switches, voltage monitors, ethernet switches, power distribution units, surge suppressors, etc., for use by electric utilities. We seek self-motivated Manufacturing Technicians capable of delivering quality products in a goal-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, responsible, and passionate about technology, with a desire for continuous learning.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.
  • Assemble intricate panels and electrical wiring with organization and consistency.
  • Utilize power tools, hand tools, and soldering equipment to assemble cabinets.
  • Conceptualize the end product and measure precisely to meet quality specifications.
  • Manufacture wires and cables, cut to length, tie for neatness, install identification tags, route in tubing or wire trays, install covers and connectors, and terminate correctly.
  • Prepare materials for shipping, including building wooden crates, packing, installing tie-downs, and placing on skids.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in work and common areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required; 1-2 years of related experience or training preferred.
  • Proven effectiveness with hand and power tools; mechanically inclined.
  • Wiring experience (panel, RTU, HVAC, maintenance, or electrical) preferred.
  • Ability to assemble upright cabinets for an 8-hour shift.
  • Ability to regularly move 40+ pounds.
  • Effective cable management skills.
