Job summary

Robinson Helicopter Company in Torrance, CA is seeking an Electrical Assembler to join the Electrical Department, reporting to the Supervisor of Electrical Assembly.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role eligible for overtime, with comprehensive health plans and a 401k retirement plan. The position involves crimping, soldering, and wire routing for helicopter cables and harnesses in accordance with FAA procedures.

Qualifications

• Electrical Assembler duties include crimping, soldering, and wire routing for helicopter cable, wire harness and electro‑mechanical fabrication.
• Must comply with FAA‑approved procedures for manufacturing data.
• DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program compliance is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate AMP, DMC and Molex hand crimpers or crimping machines to IPC-620 guidelines.
• Solder thru-hole PC boards and D-subminiature connectors.
• Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltmeters) to diagnose electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and geometric tolerances.
• Perform basic math for material fabrication and use calipers for measurements.

Job Description

Electrical Assembler duties include crimping, soldering, and wire routing for helicopter cable, wire harness and Electro-mechanical fabrication in accordance with manufacturing procedures and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

Essential Functions & Competencies

• Ability to use AMP, D.M.C and Molex hand crimpers and/or Crimping machines to meet or exceed IPC-620 guidelines.
• Ability to solder thru-hole PC boards and D-subminiature connectors.
• Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) prevention methods and IPC-620 guidelines for electronics manufacturing acceptance/defect criteria.
• Ability to use signal generators, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and other test equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances.
• Basic mathematic skills include but are not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
• Must be capable of using calipers and basic measuring tools.
• Full compliance with the Company’s DOT Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Pay Range: $20.00-$35.00/hour
