Job summary

BETA Fueling Systems in Reidsville, NC is seeking an Electrical Assembler to build electrical control boxes and PC boards per blueprints and specifications. This role works in a team and follows a Monday – Thursday 6:00am – 3:30pm schedule with occasional overtime and some Saturdays.

You will read schematics, assemble components, and verify wiring, using hand and power tools, soldering equipment, and precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical or vocational certificates in electrical systems and components preferred.
  • Basic electrical knowledge on wiring, routing, connecting, and testing electrical equipment.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, soldering equipment, precision measuring tools and equipment, voltmeter, ammeter, or ohmmeter.
  • Familiar with crimpers and stake-on connectors.
  • Work experience with 12/24 VDC systems.
  • Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of protective equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components per specifications.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical parts to meet specifications.
  • Clean parts using cleaning solutions and air hoses.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings and blueprints to determine materials and instructions.
  • Position, align, or adjust workpieces to facilitate wiring or assembly.
  • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan activities or resolve problems.
  • Explain assembly procedures to other workers.
  • Fabricate or form parts using drills, calipers, cutters, or saws.
  • Drill or tap holes to mount control units or provide openings for wiring.

Job description

For over 50 years, BETA Fueling Systems in Reidsville, NC has led the aviation industry in the manufacture of reliable and safe refueling equipment. Everything we do is focused on improving the reliability, after sales support, and on-time delivery of equipment.

Job Purpose:

The Electrical Assembler will assemble or modify electronic equipment, such as electrical control boxes and pc boards per blueprints and specifications. Our Electrical Assemblers work in a team environment. Work hours are Monday - Thursday 6:00am-3:30pm, and Friday 6:00am-10:00am with occasional overtime required and occasional Saturday.

Job Duties:
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering
  • Adjust, repair, or replace electrical or electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions
  • Position, align, or adjust workpieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly
  • Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems.
  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers
  • Fabricate or form parts, coils, or structures according to specifications, using drills, calipers, cutters, or saws
  • Drill or tap holes in specified equipment locations to mount control units or to provide openings for elements, wiring, or instruments
Requirements
Education and Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Technical or vocational degrees or certificates in electrical systems and components preferred
  • Basic electrical knowledge on wiring, routing, connecting, and testing electrical equipment
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, soldering equipment, precision measuring tools and equipment, voltmeter, ammeter, or ohmmeter
  • Familiar with crimpers and stake on connectors
  • Work experience with 12/24 VDC systems
  • Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, welding helmet, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats (BETA will provide or reimburse)
  • Physical Requirements - using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools, ability to read written instructions, lift and/or move materials up to 50 pounds independently, ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a loud, non-temperature controlled manufacturing environment
